They Love Each Other

Our Story

Sam and Dan met one fateful evening in the spring of 2013 while visiting mutual friends, connecting instantly over their shared passions and dancing the night away! It did not take long for love to find them; it was clear from the start that they were meant to be together and they became an official pair that very same spring. Later that fall, Dan moved down to New York City to join Sam as she began her journey in nursing school at NYU and their relationship blossomed as they started building a life together.

After spending their first three years as a couple in the city that never sleeps, Dan proposed to Sam on May 15th, 2015 in Washington Square Park. The park is a very special place because it is in the same neighborhood where they spent many days and nights exploring, learning, and falling in love with Manhattan and each other. Sam answered a very enthusiastic YES, already knowing that she wanted to spend her life with him from the very first night they met! After one more year in the city conquering the hustle and bustle of the busy streets, Dan and Sam moved back upstate to settle down and start the next chapter of their lives.

Dan and Sam's love story would not be complete without mentioning their extremely beloved furry children, Bandit and Layla. One feisty little boy that lives up to his name, Bandit, and one very sweet and very delicate little girl, Layla, make this couple a happy family of four! They now live in Cohoes, NY where Dan works as a software engineer and Sam as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Albany Medical Center. Dan and Sam can’t wait to tie the knot on August 5th, and someday soon start a family with children that have a little less fur…

Some Questions You Might Have

Where's the Honeymoon?

Dan and Sam will be leaving for Bali on a redeye flight late Sunday night (technically Monday morning) for 12 days in paradise.

What will the weather be like?

While we can't predict the exact weather, August in the Catskills is typically hot and sunny during the day and cooler at night. We reccommend that you bring sunglasses and something warm you can throw on when it cools off.

What kind of footwear should I wear?

The entire celebration will be outside on grass, so we suggest you stay away from skinny heals and wear your most comfortable dancing shoes!

What if it rains?

The wedding will take place rain or shine. There will be a large covered tent for dinner and some dancing but if the forecast is hinting rain it would be a good idea to bring your wellies and an umbrella. We encourage everyone to walk around and explore The Mountain!

What if I drive to The Mountain?

You are more than welcome to drive yourself, there will be plenty of space for parking on the Mountain. The road is accessible for all vehicles.

What about guests on a special diet?

We will have a fish option as well as various vegetarian sides. If you have any specific needs please reach out to Dan or Sam directly and we will do our best to accomodate them.

Can I extend my stay at Honor's Haven?

Yes! You can add additional nights on either end of your stay at the same rate using our group code.

Is the wedding family friendly?

Absolutely! Please feel free to bring the whole family.

Where can I find up-to-date information closer to the event?

Right here! We will keep this page updated, so check back often. If any last minute changes are needed this is where they will be posted.

I have another question, what should I do?

Please send us an email at info@danandsamonthemountain.com and we will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
